Hosted right at the start of the year, imm cologne is the most important date on the interior design calendar. It’s where the entire interiors industry gathers to present and discover new launches from around the world, to experience the major future trends and make a successful start to the new season.
Having always worked with Interiors, either Commercial or Residential Design, since 2005 I have always wanted to attend this event. This year I decided to finally attend (Pre Pandemic) and took my family with me too for some fun in Cologne.
Imm Cologne showcases all the future trends in design that will be seen filtering through into retail outlets up to 5 years in advance.
This year, the main feel was a mix of glam luxe with lots of gold and mixed metallics featured with sustainable materials such as bamboo, cement and glass. Living Walls and Furniture made from Paper was a big trend in the office interiors break out furniture section too which can be folded away or curved to the shape you need!

There was a definite feel of soft opulence with pastel pinks and mint greens and by contrast strong decadent jewel tones in sumptuous velvet fabrics in emerald, magenta and blue.
Here are some of the interiors I loved the most. Hope it brings some inspiration for the coming year:
While we were there we visited Cologne Cathedral and The Chocolate Museum where we were able to enjoy free Lindt samples and Lindt Hot Chocolate and Kirsch cake…yummy!
Here are some items that I love that follow some of these trends!
